Why Bat Oil is Different
Beyond Mineral Oil:
Most board oils just sit on the surface and wash away. Bat Oil is built on Pure Tung Oil, which penetrates deep into the wood fibers and cures (hardens) into a permanent, water-resistant bond.
Natural Accelerators:
We use D-Limonene (Citrus Extract) to speed up the curing process, cutting the standard 30-day window down significantly so you can get back to using your boards.
The Finish:
It delivers a rich, satin sheen that highlights grain and figuring without the greasy residue.

Bat Oil Liquid
- Ingredients: Pure Tung oil, D-Limonene, Vitamin E
- Wipe on, wipe off after 30 minutes
- Reapply at least a second time. When a wood surface is fully saturated, the oil will no longer be absorbed into the wood leaving an oily film on the surface. The excess product should be wiped away, allowed to dry and buffed to a smooth dry feel.
- Additional protection and shine can be accomplished as multiple applications will build up a thin film layer of polymerized (hardened) product.
- An automotive wax / buffer, foam pads on a drill or orbital sander or clean microfiber cloth all will achieve excellent results.
Bat Oil paste
- Ingredients; Pure Tung oil, beeswax, carnauba wax, D-limonene, Vitamin E
- The waxes add additional sheen and protection.
- Sheen can be increased by applying thin multiple layers with vigorous buffing - a mechanical buffer is ideal but great results can be achieved by hand with a clean microfiber cloth. Allow a few days between applications for best results,
- Tung + Waxes provide maximum protection from moisture. Unlike mineral oil, Bat Oil will stay on any wood surface through multiple washes and in most cases only needs reapplied a few times per year even under heavy use.
